Asbestos Management
Over the past 20 years, ACC Environmental Consultants (ACC) has established itself as an industry leader in the field of asbestos management, testing and consulting for commercial buildings. Our staff of 22 Certified Asbestos Management Consultants and Technicians have successfully completed over 4,000 building surveys and designed and managed over 5,000 abatement projects.
Asbestos Survey - Building Surveys and Testing
ACC helps building owners and managers meet their regulatory requirements to test suspect materials for asbestos prior to renovation or construction activities. To ensure quality, our certified professionals perform all field work in accordance with OSHA, EPA and AHERA protocols. Following the asbestos survey, ACC provides a comprehensive report of findings that includes the locations, sample results, quantities, cost estimates for asbestos removal and assessment of all asbestos containing materials.

Development of Plans and Specifications and Bidding Assistance
To help our clients obtain competitive prices from abatement contractors and to ensure the work is properly performed, ACC provides turnkey asbestos management services from development of plans and specifications through final clearance air testing. Plans and specifications provide contractors with project requirements and well defined scope of work, ensuring success and prevention of change orders.
Our goal on every project is to obtain highly competitive bids from only quality abatement contractors. Once specifications are prepared, ACC invites local abatement contractors we have worked with for a bid walk. Once bids are received, ACC will review each bid and assist with contractor selection.
Abatement Project Management
ACC coordinates and manages all aspects of asbestos abatement projects. Before abatement work begins, ACC personnel ensure that the containment and decontamination facilities are properly constructed. During the project, the ACC project manger performs daily air monitoring inside and outside the containment and observes the contractor’s activities to ensure the work is properly performed. Once abatement is completed and before the containment is removed, the ACC project manager performs a visual inspection and aggressive clearance air monitoring of the work area to ensure the area is safe for re-occupancy.
Asbestos Management Plan Development
For all buildings with asbestos, the EPA recommends the development of an asbestos management program to communicate the locations of asbestos to appropriate parties and train building employees on how to work safely around the materials. Our asbestos management program manual includes:
- A copy of asbestos survey report
- Asbestos notification for the building that meets regulatory requirements
- Emergency response procedures and contacts
- Building specific asbestos warning signs for posting in maintenance areas
- Written procedures for working safely on or around asbestos
Asbestos Training
ACC provides OSHA compliant Class III and IV asbestos training for building maintenance, construction and management personnel. The training is performed on a monthly basis at our Northern and Southern California offices and is available at a client’s location for groups of 10 or more. To learn more about asbestos training.

ACC Client Center
Another way ACC helps our clients manage their asbestos survey, and abatement records is the ACC Client Center. As a free service we provide to all our clients, ACC posts all of our reports in the Client Center by client and by building. The ACC Client Center enables them to go to our web site and access asbestos information for each of their buildings.
